Indian Falls Park

Please Note: The county has recently developed a new park at Indian Falls. The info below was written before this.

Directions:
Following Highway 103 take Exit 11 and turn right onto Route 324 towards Newburne. In Newburne, drive past the two Churches and Community Hall until you see a cemetery on your right. Just down from this on the left, there is an unmarked road with a mailbox. Turn down this road and park in the parking space provided before getting to the house.

Description:
Indian Falls is located on the La Have River at the end of an old Department of Fisheries roadway. At that time the best way to hike to the falls was to park along side the main road and hike back. This road has since been fixed up as a driveway for the new house that has been built by the river. This new road now consists of a small parking lot before getting to the house. Visitors are asked to park their cars here and walk the rest of the way to the falls.

The falls is a short and easy five-minute walk from this parking lot. This walk will take you along the rapids of the river above the falls until you reach the clearing. The top of the falls is not roped off; visitors should take caution when going close to the edge of the cliff.

There was an old bridge that crossed the river above the falls and leads to the steel grated fish way that would let visitors walk down the side of the falls to a platform near the bottom. This bridge has recently been washed out.
