Alexander Graham Bell Museum
Directions:
Located on Highway 205 in Baddeck.
Description:
This National Historic Site is a great treasure trove for visitors wanting to learn about this famous man and his life story. Alexander Graham Bell was born in Scotland and lived in Ontario and Washington during his younger years, but the place he adored most was "Beinn Bhreagh", his home in Baddeck, Nova Scotia. This is where he made history and spent the last 37 years of his life.
The museum provides many artifacts, audio - visual programs and photographs that tell the story of Mr. Bell and his life of inventing. He was a teacher, inventor and a humanitarian, using these skills he crossed the gap between the world of sound and the world of silence.
We only had a short stay at the museum on our trip and we will have to go back again when we have more time to browse throughout this wonderful museum. For visitors with young families the museum has a large "discover area" with puzzles, kite making and much more.
